    Again oh so true and well written. Not adapting is not really an option. Was at an NAS PDA conference today; will blog about that soon. But it was all about realising that these children need individual approaches – the one size fits all strategy just doesn’t cut it here. Boy I wish it did, it would make life easier! We are over 2 years on from diagnosis and I’m not sure when it will sink in that this is lifelong… It’s all about dealing with the day-to-day and still trying to enjoy life! Adjustments? Yep, too right!

    You have written a very touching post. You are adjusting to a new normal. We received our son’s diagnosis more than 16 years ago and I can remember that moment I first heard “Asperger’s” as if it just happened. You take it one day at a time, one chunk at a time, and be patient with yourself. The learning curve is straight up on this one! 🙂
